The Donald Berman YALDEI Developmental Center

Pediatric Therapy for Children with Special Needs

The only one of its kind in Quebec, Yaldei is a private, not-for-profit early intervention center dedicated to helping children with developmental challenges reach their full potential. Yaldei’s integration of advanced clinical, behavioral, educational and family support services provide children with the opportunity to learn how to walk, talk, play, attend school and lead productive lives as part of their community.

Founded in 1997 in a modest bungalow by parents of two developmentally delayed children, Yaldei’s beginnings were humble. The motivation behind the creation of the center was based on their own frustration as parents and a wish to offer a helping hand to those in the same situation. Thanks to support from the community, Yaldei has evolved into a state of the art facility that has delivered remarkable results to well over 1,200 children and their families. The Center is now situated in the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex offering a high quality of service recognized by many leading specialized institutions in the province.

There is still so much more work that needs to be done for these children as Yaldei tries to accommodate the ever growing number of families coming to them for help during these most difficult economic and emotional times. The center needs to hire more specialists, therapists and educators. Most importantly, Yaldei needs to continue to remain on the “cutting edge “ of Early Intervention, and that requires the best staff, the best equipment, the best training and the best facilities for Yaldei’s children, families, and staff.

Please join the community of support that has made Yaldei what it is today. Register to become a Yaldei Ambassador and help every child come one step closer to a more fully integrated and enriched life in the community.
